Remember nutrition can take at least four weeks before you see some results. You may be in celebration mode, but limit alcohol to twice a week, as it can ruin good intentions and affect sleep quality.
Pop a pill
Take a probiotic capsule daily for one month to help digestion and shore up immune-stimulating good bacteria. Try Acidophilus Extra 10, £18.35 for 60 capsules, victoriahealth.com.
The prep step
We're not saying don't have a glass of bubbly at your bridal shower, but just make sure that you eat something first. Include some protein with complex carbs to help you manage alcohol better.
A slice of smoked salmon or some unsweetened nut butter and a cracker is ideal. And make time for evenings at home to make sure you get rest and don't overtax yourself.
Eat little and often, avoid caffeine and take 200mg magnesium with dinner and again before bed. It should help to stop you waking up and worrying in the night.
Exercise is an important factor in managing stress, but make sure you also do something reflective and not high-impact, such as yoga or meditation classes. Try Solgar Magnesium Citrate, £10.05 for 60 capsules, victoriahealth.com.
Eat your way to clear skin
Eat clean; plenty of fresh produce, lean protein, nuts, seeds, legumes (such as beans and lentils) and some wholegrains. The nutrients to look out for are copper, zinc, manganese, several B vitamins as well as vitamins A, C and E.
Hydration is not just about drinking more – eat more juicy fresh vegetables for nutrients, as well as upping your water content. And remember, it takes several weeks for the improved skin to show properly.
