12 bridal trends you need to know about for 2017

Written by Katie Byrne

Want to know what's hitting the bridal boutiques next year in terms of style, texture and silhouette? Here's our trend edit to help you on your way...

With Bridal Market just gone, a whole new set of show-stopping trends are making their way in to the bridal boutiques for the new season...

#1 Ruffles

If you're a bride-to-be searching for on-point volume, the new season's ruffles will help you cause a stir as you take to the aisle. We adore these breath-taking designs by Ian Stuart and Vera Wang...

#2 Off-the-shoulder

Opt for pure elegance with an off-the-shoulder neckline. This beauty was seen everywhere from Marchesa, to Wtoo, to Gala by Galia Lahav (below left) and Reem Acra (below right).

#3 Illusion sleeves

Fall in love with illusion sleeves this coming Spring/Summer'17. We love these designs by Lela Rose (left) and Hayley Paige (right).

#4 The overskirt

If you're a fashion-forward bride looking to make a statement, the overskirt is for you. We're completely smitten with the designs below from Riki Dalal (left) and Zuhair Murad (right).

#5 Bows

Sometimes you just can't beat a statement bow. We love these structured designs by Carolina Herrera (left) and Viktor & Rolf (right).

#6 The jumpsuit

If you're a bride-to-be after a more contemporary approach to your big day look, then why not try a jumpsuit? This Whistles one on the left is perfect if you love a lot of lace, while Elie Saab nails it with this truly dreamy creation on the right.

#7 3D blooms

Want something completely out-of-this-world and different? Opt for the new season's 3D blooms (that promise to blow your guests away)! Viktor & Rolf know how to bring high-voltage style to the table with this gown on the left, while Oscar de la Renta creates frothy volume with this look on the right...

#8 Soft hues

Don't be scared to try out some colour! Opt for a gloriously soft lilac like this beauty on the right from Naeem Khan, or try out something completely different and go green with this fabulous creation by Jenny Packham on the left...

#9 High-low skirt

Can't choose between a high or low hemline? Now you don't have to. We love these beauties below from Monique Lhuillier (left) and Ines Di Santo (right)...

#10 Feathers

You can never have too many feathers! We are completely in love with these designs from Berta Bridal (left) and Savin London (right).

#11 Plunging necklines

The new season plunging neckline is just begging for you to pair it with a simple pendant or statement necklace! We love these creations by J.Mendel (left) and Grace Loves Lace (right).

#12 Cut outs

For something more unusual in terms of your bridal silhouette opt for a gown with modern cut outs. Jenny Packham's gorgeous embellished design (left) is completely on-point, as is this beautiful look from Lela Rose.
