Jeni Stepien met Arthur Thomas the night before her wedding, which took place over the weekend
Okay: now this story is incredible.
A decade after her father was murdered, a bride was walked down the aisle by the man who received her father's heart.
Jeni Stepien met Arthur Thomas, who received the heart transplant when Michael Stepien was killed a decade ago, the night before her wedding, which took place in Pennsylvania on Saturday.
In an emotional twist - and determined to include a part of her late father in her wedding day - Jeni asked Arthur to walk her down the aisle. He agreed, travelling to Pittsburgh from his home in New Jersey for the tear-jerking moment.
Arthur had been waiting for a heart transplant for 16 years when Michael died, and the Stepien family had stayed in contact with him via letter over the years.
But it was only on Jeni's wedding day - when she tied the knot with beau Paul Maenner - that they finally met for the first time.
Speaking to CBS Pittsburgh, the gorgeous bride commented: "The whole family is here now. It's like everybody is here".
Jeni's sister, Michelle, added: "Just hugging him made me feel like I was close to my dad again. On this day it was perfect. It was what I needed".
Speaking about the emotional day, Arthur said: "What greater honour could a person have then walking the daughter of the man who's given his heart to him. I couldn't imagine a greater honour".
