5 spring 2016 trends for bridesmaids & flower girls

Written by Katie Byrne

The designers behind the renown brand, Nicki Macfarlane bring us the top five bridesmaid and flower girl trends for the new season! Notebooks at the ready…

#1 Florals back in bloom…

SHOP: Almond Eleanor gown; floral Imogen gown; ivory floral Rose gown

This season we're very excited about floral prints making a return! Our Eleanor dress in sumptuous floral gold or pink fabric is a perfect example of this, another popular floral number is our beautiful Imogen dress with three dimensional flower detailing. Perfect for Easter, these floral designs will be a huge hit this season!

 #2 Embellishments, it’s all about the detail…

SHOP: Embellished collar Serena gown and Jessica gown are available in multiple colours.

Beautifully embellished fabrics are currently BIG when it comes to bridesmaid style. Our most favoured designs are our Jessica dress and Serena dress, with both showcasing beautifully embellished jewelled and beaded Peter pan collars! With a fabulous range of colours to choose from, they'll be one to suit every occasion. Opt for a chic green or silver hue for a more sophisticated nod for older girls.

#3 In an English country garden…

SHOP: Pink Amelia gown; purple Matilda gown; organza Mirabelle gown

Sweet pea colours are always popular for spring, especially with Easter and May Day coming up. We have a range of beautiful colours to compliment all little girls. Our Juliette dress in rose has a unique heart cut out back, adding that something extra special for the beautiful birthday girl! There’s also our Matilda dress in a soft wisteria tone with the darker collar and sash, and of course our signature oversized bow, perfect for that final finishing touch!

#4 Cool blue hues…

SHOP: Blue Sylvie gown; Floral embellished Isabella gownBlue Sylvie gown

Subtle blue shades are seriously popular this spring and party season. It’s a flattering hue and something a little different from the usual lighter tones, like ivory, shell pink and white. The girls love blue as it makes them feel like Cinderella and our Sylvie dress in sorbet sky blue is a real hit for any celebration!

#5 Colour me happy…

 SHOP: The Flora gown

Always remember that colour is a very personal thing, so choose one that says something about her character, and one she really likes! Don’t go for the latest bang-on-trend colour just because it’s fashionable. Dressing your little one in something she isn’t completely happy with won’t guarantee a smiling face on the day, and after all, you’ll want her to be the belle of the ball!
