A relaxed wedding at Syon Park, full of thoughtful details and timeless elegance

A relaxed wedding at Syon Park, full of thoughtful details and timeless elegance

Written by Katie Byrne

Inspired by nature, Hannah and Dom opted for simple styling in a neutral palette with a touch of blush

Hannah, 32, a stylist for interior magazines, and Dom, 33, a paediatrician, married at Syon Park in Brentford, Middlesex.

The inspiration...

We fell in love with the Great Conservatory at Syon Park as soon as we saw it; with its stone floors, glass walls and stripped back beauty it was perfect.

For our décor, I was inspired by the style of photographer Tim Walker, and we had our venue’s conservatory and flowers dressed in a similar, pared-down way, keeping the overall look simple and unfussy.

We chose a palette of rosy pink, soft nudes and shades of grey to reflect the natural feel of our day.

The style...

I loved the simplicity of my Jesus Peiro dress and, with our venue being pretty grand, I felt a strong silhouette was perfectly apt! I wore my gown with a pair of earrings and a bracelet, both by Alex Monroe, and my late granny’s vintage diamond ring.

Dominic looked dapper in a blue three piece suit from Marc Wallace, teamed with a Burberry tie and handkerchief by Paul Smith. My bridesmaids looked so pretty in nude-coloured dresses from Ghost, which they wore with necklaces from Anthropologie.

The flowers...

I held a bouquet of peonies, roses, nigella, astilbe, bupleurum and astrantia, while her bridesmaids carried roses, rosemary and olive branches. Dominic’s buttonhole featured a miniature rose with rosemary, astilbe, astrantia and olive branches.

The details...

We had two separate drinks receptions to make the most of our huge venue! The first was in the courtyard, where champagne and canapés were served, before guests enjoyed Pimms on the lawn outside the conservatory.

I didn’t want the styling to feel like work, so decided to keep everything fairly simple, allowing our venue to function as the main décor.

We dressed our tables in grey linens, using luggage tags for place names with black and white bakers’ twine around the napkins, while our table numbers were handwritten in gold ink and printed from Etsy.

Our beautiful floral tablecentres were the true heroes. Finally, my dad keeps bees on Wimbledon Common, so we gave each of our guests a small jar of his honey.

Steal their style!
